ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Loraine Mc Colgan and I am a chartered Counselling Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor and Group Therapist. I have been practicing for 30 years and over this time have been privileged to work with a rich variety of clients, covering all age ranges and areas of difficulty or confusion. It is inevitable as we journey through life that we will encounter obstacles, both inner and outer, and at times the need for a distinct space for deep reflection is essential. In that sense, therapy is “no big deal” but rather, a designated and wise place in which to gain clarity, express and process strong emotion and reorient oneself to a more meaningful and authentic future.

I graduated from UCD with Honours in Pure Psychology and obtained by Masters in Counselling and Diploma in Clinical Supervision form Trinity College Dublin.

I am a Chartered member of The Psychological Society of Ireland and engage in continuous training and professional development in line with their standards of best practice and ongoing learning.

I have been engaged in healing, mindfulness and meditation practices and retreats for 25 years, within Buddhist, Native American and non -secular traditions and the fruits of these experiences also inform my clinical practice.
